Description:
The Buddha said that “Hatred never ceases by hatred, but by love alone is healed; this is the eternal law.” (Dhammapada) This is a profound truth that can take a lifetime to live into. Yet many ask, is love truly enough to face the fear, anger and violence of late stage capitalism, colonialism and climate crisis? In this time of global disruption, loss and challenge we are called more than ever to join in community to remember what is trustworthy and to experience who we truly are…not cogs in a machine but spiritual beings in a web of life. Each of us is small and connected to everyone else. And each of us has a vital role to play in the unfolding of the world because personal and collective change happen simultaneously. So how do we resource ourselves to co-create the world we want to live in, where we can heal wounds, make peace in social conflicts and grow something new?
Each day-long retreat will support us in growing our place to rest in metta, heartfulness, in concert with upekkha, spaciousness, and ahimsa, non-harming, so we can live and lead with love and wisdom. The program includes sitting, walking, gentle Qi Gong and mindful movement, eating, and loving-kindness meditation from the Buddhist tradition, suitable for new and experienced practitioners of any and no faith tradition. All are welcome!
