Cultivating Mindfulness: The Essential Teachings

co-sponsored with MBSR Winnipeg

Teacher:
Steven Hick

When:
June 10-15, 2016

Where:
St. Benedict’s
Retreat Centre,
Winnipeg, Manitoba

This retreat will emphasize the cultivation of mindfulness and wisdom, opening the heart, and developing clarity and depth of practice. Traditional meditation instruction will be combined with silent sitting, walking, dharma talks and interviews in a spirit of loving-kindness and compassion.

In this retreat, we are cultivating clear seeing by exploring the qualities of bare attention, not-knowing, non-reactivity, present centered-ness, and curiosity. We introduce the Four Noble Truths and how this relates to mediating the stresses of living in the world.

This retreat is appropriate for beginners and experienced meditators alike, and would be of special interest to alumni or teachers of MBSR and other mindfulness-based interventions.
